Trump speech lays groundwork for him to tamper with midterm results, critics warn
Let’s be absolutely clear about what’s happening here, because the word ‘critics warn’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Julius Sleezer isn’t subtly hinting at anything — he’s standing at a podium and spray-painting a roadmap to autocracy in neon orange. This is the same playbook he ran in 2020, except this time he’s pre-loading the excuses before a single vote is cast, because it turns out it’s much easier to delegitimize an election you haven’t lost yet than one you already have. The ‘groundwork’ isn’t metaphorical. It’s legal architecture, media architecture, and loyalist-placement architecture — all being hammered into place while the press debates whether to call it ‘election skepticism’ or ‘a coup in slow motion.’
And who benefits when American democracy becomes a rigged wheel? Not you. Not your neighbors. The dark money networks — the Federalist Society alumni, the billionaire-funded ‘election integrity’ nonprofits, the corporate PACs who write the checks and collect the policy favors — they benefit enormously from a system where votes can be contested, delayed, or simply ignored when inconvenient. Voter suppression and election manipulation aren’t bugs in the oligarchy’s operating system. They’re features. A confused, demoralized electorate is a controllable electorate.
If you’re waiting for the institutions to save you, I have some bad news: the institutions are the ones being dismantled. The midterms are the last off-ramp before this vehicle goes fully off the cliff, and Don Snorleon is already reaching for the steering wheel. Register. Organize. Fund election protection lawyers. Scream about this. Because ‘critics warn’ won’t cut it when the ballots are being shredded.

Ah yes, the testosterone initiative — because nothing says ‘serious governance’ like a cabinet of middle-aged men in a collective masculinity crisis trying to bench-press American foreign policy. Take-another-shot-Hegseth, the man who thought a ‘Deus Vult’ tattoo was cool, is now apparently part of a broader White House brand pivot: Real Men Start Wars, Inject Hormones, and Eat Phallic Carnival Food With Menacing Eye Contact. This isn’t a political movement anymore. It’s a supplement company with nuclear codes.
But here’s the part Marina Hyde can afford to make hilarious that the rest of us cannot afford to ignore: the performative masculinity is a distraction machine. Every corn dog photo, every testosterone talking point, every staged moment of Vance or Hegseth radiating ‘I definitely did not cry at Toy Story 3’ energy — that’s a curtain. Behind the curtain, the Epstein Class is quietly deregulating financial markets, gutting environmental protections, and redirecting military contracts to their own portfolios. The macho theater keeps the cameras pointed at the circus while the corporate looters empty the vault.
The joke writes itself, sure — but the punchline is that soldiers are dying in Iran, oil prices are spiking, and the architects of this disaster are worried about whether their T-levels are high enough to justify it. Toxic masculinity has always been a tool of authoritarian power. What’s new is how nakedly, stupidly, corn-dog-ily they’re deploying it. Don’t laugh and move on. Laugh, then punch them in the face... metiphorically, of course.

Oil price jumps as US-Iran clashes raise odds of interest rate rises
Follow the money, because the money always tells the truth even when the government won’t. The second American bombs start falling anywhere in the Middle East, the fossil fuel industry pops champagne — and this time is no different. Oil prices jump, energy stocks surge, and somewhere in a glass tower in Houston or Riyadh, a man whose net worth just increased by nine figures sends a very grateful text to his favorite senator. The war isn’t a foreign policy failure. For the people who funded this administration, it’s a revenue event.
Here’s the double-squeeze the Techno-Fascists and their petro-billionaire backers are running on ordinary Americans: the war drives up oil prices, which drives up inflation, which raises the odds of interest rate hikes, which makes your mortgage more expensive, your credit card debt more crushing, and your car payment more brutal — all while Exxon, Chevron, and their dark money cousins report record quarterly profits. This is not a coincidence. This is the business model. Manufacture instability, extract wealth, socialize the pain.
Every time you fill up your gas tank and wince, remember that the price spike is partially a tax levied by a foreign policy written by and for the fossil fuel industry. The revolving door between defense contractors, oil executives, and the Trump administration isn’t even spinning anymore — it’s been welded open. Your economic anxiety is their profit margin. That should make you angrier than any cable news segment ever will.

Trump’s attorney general pick answers questions on ICE, Kash Patel and Epstein - video
Todd Blanche — Trump’s personal defense lawyer, the man who literally got paid to keep the Orange Teletubby out of prison — is now being nominated to run the Department of Justice. Let that marinate. The attorney general of the United States is supposed to be the people’s lawyer. Instead, we’re being handed the defendant’s lawyer, completing what is arguably the most audacious inside coop in American legal history. This isn’t the fox guarding the henhouse. This is the fox being handed the henhouse deed, the hen registry, and a badge.
And then there’s the Epstein question — the one that keeps surfacing like a body that won’t stay buried, because powerful men need it to stay buried. Every nominee who gets asked about those files performs the same choreography: careful non-answers, procedural deflections, meaningful pauses. Blanche is no different. Because the Epstein files aren’t just about Jeffrey Epstein. They’re about the entire network of billionaires, politicians, and power brokers who used that man’s operation and are now, conveniently, either running the government or funding the people who do. The Epstein Class takes care of its own.
Ask yourself: why does every Trump AG nominee treat those files like a live grenade? The answer is sitting right in front of you, and it has a name, a net worth, and a donor history. The confirmation hearing is theater. The real question — who is Todd Blanche protecting, and from what — will never be asked on camera. That’s why you have to keep asking it yourself.

First Draft: 🛑 Trump Can’t Quit His Failing Campaign of Terror and Murder
There’s a term for when a state systematically deploys violence, fear, and lethal force against civilian populations to achieve political ends. Journalists used to dance around it. Some of us are done dancing. What’s being documented in real time — the ICE raids engineered for maximum trauma, the deportation flights to countries people have never lived in, the targeting of communities designed to send a message to everyone watching — is not immigration enforcement. It’s a campaign. It has political goals, media choreography, and a body count.
And here’s the sick genius of it: the campaign is ‘failing’ by every measurable immigration metric — border crossings, deportation numbers, actual policy outcomes — but it is succeeding wildly at its real purpose. Terror doesn’t have to be efficient to be effective. The point was never to solve an immigration ‘crisis.’ The point was to manufacture one, keep it bleeding on the front page, and use it to consolidate power, distract from economic devastation, and give the base something to hate that isn’t the billionaires picking their pockets. Donny Dipshit didn’t invent this playbook. He just found the most garish, shameless way to run it.
People are dying. Families are being destroyed. Children are being traumatized in ways that will echo for generations. This is not a policy disagreement — this is a moral emergency, and the corporate private prison CEOs who fund the politicians who cheer it on are as complicit as the men in tactical gear. If your outrage has a limit, find where that limit is and ask yourself who benefits from you staying inside it. Then blow past it...
